Year 12 Biology Entry Work

Over the holidays students who intend to study AS Biology at the Grove from September will be expected to carry out some preparation work. On return to College in September students will be required to complete and pass an entry exam to check their suitability for the course.

Each section of these notes is written to help bridge the gap between GCSE and AS Biology. The notes all follow the same format: there is a page of information about a particular topic (including diagrams that you need to become familiar with) with a separate sheet containing a series of questions.

The questions fall into two categories:

Short answer questions that require a simple answer, usually found in the relevant information section

Data analysis questions which need some manipulation of the information given before you can arrive at the answer

A word of warning - you will need to collect some graph paper from the Biology department next time you're in school in order to complete the questions.
